A Short But Welcomed Test Day at the Bugatti Track in Le Mans

April 18, 2002

(Le Mans, France) - The drivers of the Formula Campus Renault Elf 2002 championship took to the track for the first time since the Nogaro race (which was cancelled because of technical problems with the new racecars). The purpose of this weekメs testing was to learn the new Bugatti track in Le Mans, and to confirm that the modifications made to the cars over the last few weeks are effective.

Mission accomplished - all of the cars completed the two days of testing without any problems whatsoever. The young French-American Emmanuel Crouvisier was once again one of the fastest drivers, just a few tenths behind the quickest time set by Frenchman Romain Despres.

Some new additions to the racecar were also tested this week, including a data acquisition system as well as an onboard lap time display. These two features will be invaluable to the drivers during future practice sessions.

Everything looks promising for Crouvisier, who is eagerly anticipating the first official race of the season at Magny-Cours, just two weeks away (May 4th and 5th).
