Formula Campus Tests at Magny-Cours

February 20, 2002

(Nevers, France) - Approximately two-thirds of the 2002 Formula Campus drivers tested today at the Magny-Cours track in central France.

The conditions were absolutely appaling at Magny-Cours, with an enormous downpour of rain throughout the day. The experience was certainly a good one for the group of drivers, as it was the drivers' first taste of driving the Formula Campus cars in the rain.

As in previous test sessions, the quickest of the group proved to be Emmanuel Crouvisier, Romain Despres and Jean-Baptiste. Results are to be posted in the next week, once all of the information has been sorted.

The second day of testing at Magny-Cours, for the remaining drivers, proved to be an entirely different story. The sun came out in the morning and dried the track throughout the day. Slick tires were mounted in place of the rain tires before lunch, and lap times continued to plummet as the day progressed. Quickest of this group were Vinay Basavaraja and Loic Duval, who were able to quickly come to grip with the changing track conditions.
